It is in the spirit of Yule and Paganism that SAPA would like to invite you to participate in our first ever crafting event. Join us at our "Make-your-own-gift Yule Bazaar" on December 15 from 3 pm to 6 pm and create some beautiful and heartfelt gifts for those you love and cherish.  The event will be held at The Stoketown Cafe + Cure, please visit our Facebook page for more details.

Today the western world is completely overrun by consumerism and greed. Everyone buying seemingly endless amounts of unnecessary material items, many of which I am not so sure hold any real value at all.

This is something that especially rings true during the yuletide season. We all, to some degree, feel the obligation to buy during this season, as a rather large part of the growth centered around this holiday is gift giving.

That is not to say that our ancestors did not participate in the act of gift giving during this time of year, just perhaps that the gifts were typically something  handmade, heartfelt and often times needed.

I personally am a big fan of carrying on the practice of crafting performed  by our ancestors and endeavor to make as many items as I find possible; especially items I may choose to use in my practice. However when I have made a gift for another I always feel a sense of pride and satisfaction upon seeing the finished result and knowing that whomever I bestow my work to will appreciate it and hopefully treasure it as well.
